In August 2023, I posted longer more substantial videos to YouTube. I also submitted a SIG topic proposal to the Internet Society.

YouTube Videos Posted and In the Works

This month I made two longer videos and updated a short to improve the graphics. I continue to have interesting videos in the works. In summary, the content creation process is fun, but very time consuming.

I found some visuals for automated delivery available in the Creative Commons published by Dahir Insaat. Therefore, I decided to make a commentary video. I note similar technology already exist for each component of this system.

While I have more to say about this video, I decided to publish part one now. I plan to post a followup later. The next step would be to discuss in greater detail what would make this more like an internet. For starters, an internet for delivering goods should be more decentralized. For instance, by using space in the basement of buildings as a cache instead relying upon a distribution centre. There should be more access points outside and in various locations. Users should be able to control the movement of goods on a computer like a smartphone.

I also posted a video on August 20, 2023 to mark five year of climate strikes with a message to commandeer educational institutions.

The views for these videos have been low. I need to work on adding more content and reaching out to others who share an interest in internet technology and climate solutions.

Internet Society SIG Submission

As part of my networking efforts, I have been working on a proposal for the Internet Society‘s Special Interest Group (SIG). This builds on the medium post I made a few months ago – Attn Internet Society: Don’t Miss “The Thing”. I connected with others interested in a retrospective review of the Internet Society.

The Internet Society is now over 30 years old. I think it would be valuable to do an evaluation of how it achieved its mission. Information about how to create an international organization to support the development of global technology like the Internet would make for a very interesting story. This information would also be of great interest for creating an Energy Internet or a Physical Internet.

If Internet Society members select this topic, I hope I can make a useful contribution to the Society. I’m hoping this work will put me in contact with people and information that can guide the development of the Next Net Project.
